9 Great Coffee Shops In Astoria

We usually go to Astoria for the Greek food and pretty waterfront views, but they have some really great coffee shops in the neighborhood too. Here’s the lowdown on a handful of our favorites.

Owned by a husband and wife duo, Caffino is a nice little spot with La Colombe coffee, Balthazar pastries, and ample exposed brick. We’re all about it.

60 Beans Kitchen & Coffee

This beloved local joint was named for Beethoven’s theory that every cup of coffee should contain exactly 60 beans. They have ample seating and Dough donuts, and are usually bumping indietronica music.

Making their home inside of Sek’end Sun cocktail bar during the day, Stellar Brews is a popup specializing in deliciously unique coffee concoctions & organic ingredients. They serve Lavazza and team up with the bartenders for coffee cocktails every weekend during brunch.

Madame Sousou

Madame Sousou’s two Astoria locations are known for European-style lattes and fantastic French pastries. Both quiet little cafes make a great escape from the bustle of Queens, and there’s outdoor seating in the summer.

Kinship Coffee Cooperative

This tiny spot has a great aesthetic and a rotating selection of coffee from various high-quality roasters. With polaroids all over the walls and a communal round table in the middle of the space, Kinship is definitely a fitting title.

Gossip Coffee

Forget about coffee for a second, because Gossip’s donut game is out of control. They make them every morning with varieties like Fruity Pebble, Proscuitto Guinness, and Orange Creamsicle. That said, the coffee is really good too, and they even have a Donutccino.

The Queens Kickshaw

What's brunch without a steady stream of coffee?

Serving up Counter Culture Coffee alongside specialty grilled cheese sandwiches and cocktails, The Queens Kickshaw is a great brunch spot. They also host live music every Friday night.

Astoria Coffee

Featuring a rotating selection of small-batch beans, Astoria Coffee is a beautifully-lit space with tons of plants and delicious coffee. Their “dueling tip jars” are always hilarious and well-drawn, and they usually announce the winners on Instagram.

XXX Coffee

As a World Barista Championship Technical Judge and vintage espresso machine enthusiast, XXX Coffee owner Drew Degeer knows a thing or two about coffee, and it certainly shows. This coffee cart can be found in the lovely Socrates Sculpture garden on the weekends.
